Ruby on Rails Developer
As a Ruby on Rails developer at AlphaSights you will play a key role in developing an innovative web based system using agile methodologies. This is a great opportunity to be part of a rewarding start-up environment working with a quality codebase in rapid development cycles. We use the latest techniques and tools to keep development fast moving and fun. You will have a good background in web based programming with a passion for Ruby and a flair for creating robust, clean code. We are looking for recent graduates as well as developers with some commercial experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Ruby on Rails software development
- Database schema design
- Object oriented design
- Front-end web development using JavaScript, HAML and SASS
Required Skills
- Demonstrable track record developing with Ruby and/or Rails
- Understand the key factors in making your code secure
- Unit testing. Preferably with experience of RSpec
- Experience in Git, SQL, HAML, JQuery/PrototypeJS
- Working knowledge of unix-like environments such as Mac OS X and Linux
Desired Skills
- Comfortable working on a Mac
- Comfortable working with the command line
